Job Title: Accounts Clerk

Position Summary: We are looking for an individual with attention to detail who has a passion for numbers to join our Finance team as an Accounts Clerk. Reporting to the Financial Controller , he/she, will be taking care of various responsibilities related to the normal day-to-day accounting activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Posting of Purchase Invoices and Credit Notes.
- Reconciliation of Creditor Statements.
- Allocation of Debtor Payments.
- Preparation of Debtor Payments Bank Deposits.
- Reconciliation of Cash Sheets from Commercial Departments containing cash/cheques and expenses, and allocation of same debtor cash/cheque payments.
- Chasing of Debtors for payments by sending statements and follow-ups by communication via e-mails and/or phone calls.
- Checking of profit and loss on individual voyages/transactions, it being an Internal Audit.
- Helping the Accountant in issuing sales invoice re Ship Registration Companies.
- Any ad hoc office duties relating to accounts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting is a plus.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suit – Excel, Word and Outlook
- Knowledge of English, and preferably Maltese as well.
- Previous experience in the road haulage or transportation industry is desirable.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
