Assistant Operations Manager

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Description:

We are looking for a proactive and organized Assistant Operations Manager to join our team in managing international road haulage operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily management of fleet operations, including route planning and scheduling.
  • Monitor shipment progress to ensure on-time delivery and handle any operational issues that arise.
  • Coordinate trailer movements and scheduling with drivers and logistics teams to optimize load efficiency and maintain service quality.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with transportation regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and transport partners, addressing any inquiries or concerns related to shipments.
  • Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with customs and regulatory bodies to manage cross-border compliance requirements.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a logistics, transportation, or operations role is preferred. (ideally within international road haulage)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of customs procedures and cross-border regulations is a plus.
  • Proficiency in English and Maltese
  • Working knowledge of Italian
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software (if applicable).
